Why don't the wierd fonts work?

Hi, George - I think the fonts have to be loaded onto your computer before they'll work. I'm not exactly sure how that works, but it's something like that.

Thanks Joe. I have all the fonts above installed here. I have been using Thosp's format (I copied one of his sigs - sorry/thanks Thosp) and added the fonts of my choice.
I noticed that you put the "" into the equation (and I know the pros and cons of this practise)
I have included a font which is 'one word', trying to see whether the 'space' between the two words of the font bears some relevance as to my failure to post them correctly

The only thing with fonts, least as far as I understand it is when using the fancy ones, other people need to have them to see/ appreciate it. Perhaps Mudguard can confirm/ explain this.

Since I'veneverbeen able to make the bk thing work, I'll try this here before posting to thread. THE GOONEY BIRD - Oscar Brand

In '51 they tried to ground the noble D.C.3 & so some lawyers brought the case before the C.A.B. So the bnoard examined all the facts behind their great oak portal & then pronounced these simple words,The Gooney Bird's immortal

They patch her up with masking tape, with paper clips & strings & still she flies, she never dies Methusaleah with wings

The army toasts their sky train now in lousy scotch & soda The Tommies raise their tankards high to cheer their old Dakota Some claim the C 47's best, or the gallant R4D Forget that claim, they're all the same, they're the noble DC3 - chorus -

Douglas built this ship to last but nobody expected This crazy heap would fly & fly no matter how they wrecked it While nations fall & men retire & jets get obsolete The Gooney Bird flies on & on at 11,000 feet- chorus

No matter what they do to her, the Gooney Bird still flies One crippled plane was fitted out with one wing half the size She hunched her shoulders, then took off, I know this makes you laugh One wing askew & yet she flew, the DC 2 & a half - chorus

She had her faults but after all who's perfect in this sphere Her heating system was a gem & we loved her for her gear Of course her windows leaked a bit when the rain came pouring down She'd keep you warm but in a storm it's possible you'd drown- chorus

Well now she flies the feeder routes & carries mail & freight She's just an air borne office or a flying 12 ton crate They patch her up with masking tape, with paper clips & strings & still she flies, she never dies, Methusalah with wings- chorus

MMario, I checked out the thread you refreshed & it doesn't seem to help. I did put in the break thingies, and they just don't seem to work (except for the double break). I went back and looked at the song I posted above with the page source command and the breaks all seem to be there, but they don't do any good. The lines all run together.I know I'm doing something monumentally stupid, but can't figure out what.

Well that was hosed, sorry -- I haven't mastered the literals yet. I stole the one above from the kind offices of Joe Offer. And the second reason is that the link's path to a cgi script produces and error. This is probably because the call to the script is somehow missing a piece, or something like that.

Make a copy of your HTML codes in Notepad or something, and if you ever forget them, open your HTML.txt or whatever you call it and re acquaint yourself with them.

Alternatively, save a few of the HTML threads or make them available off line.

All that you see here has been battered out somewhere else.

Must be the old persecution complex coming back.

Thanks Threadie
I will do that, make a copy of the HTML codes for 'blue clicky' and place it near my computer.
You know what was really helpful at the end? Going back to the Mudcat FAQ -Newcomer's Guide.
Joe Offer really put that 'Blue Clicky Thing' in easy to follow instructions. But I was having a real hard time in the beginning because it all felt confusing.
After a few failed attempts, I went back again and could finally read Joe's instructions better.

I think you have a sense of humor Threadie
One thing I know is that I do appreciate your help

Giac,
I do not want to disappoint you but ...
it wasn't the quotes that stopped your blue clicky thingy from working.
In your first attempt you wrote <a href:"http://www…
with other words you replaced the correct equal sign = with an incorrect colon.
When you removed the quotes, you also corrected the = which made it work, not the removing of the quotes!
HTH,
MudGuard
