Stefan,

Thanks for the info on Mark Spoelstra. I had the opportunity several times during the late 60's to hear Mark play at a coffeehouse in Connecticut. I really liked his music. Lost track of him for a long time. Then heard that he had gone to playing religious music.

Your website doesn't say where he is now. Do you know?

Also, are any of his albums available anywhere? Would love to get the ones I don't have, specifically:

Club 47 - 1963
Mark Spoelstra - 1969 - Columbia
This House - 1971
Somehow I Always Knew - 1977
Comin' Back to Town - 1979

Thanks again. I'll have to dig out the ones I have and give them a listen for the first time in many years.

Thanks for reminding me.

karen k

karen k,

Don't know the whereabouts of Mark (perhaps he'll show up - as did others I published a discography of ?!?)

His two first Folkways records (i.e. including "Club 47") can be ordered (19.95$ each) as custom made CDs at Smithsonian Folkways Recordings at the following address: http://www.si.edu/folkways/artist2.htm

(Meanwhile I added this information to my site - thanks for reminding ME)

Hope this helps at least a little bit !

Stefan

Hi Karen.

He was a favourite of mine. Always wondered what happened to him. Seemed pretty spiritual early on. Wonder what kind of religious music he's into.
