That was fun, sorry I missed a few people earlier. MMario, you have a beautiful voice.

I sang The Pattern by Kim McKee
and a little bit of Libana's version of Stand on the Shore.

This is most likely a dumb question. How is it possible to press on the mouse button ~ "talk" and play an instrument at the same time???

There are as many answers to that as people who try it....everything from masking tape, to an applet jon wrote, to tire irons, to staplers, to big toes....

the best way I've heard about so far is to recruit someone else, and do a duet....

Cap't Bob, if you type in the words hearme, int eh filter box at the top of the threads and set the Age to 90 days, you will find several threads on it. One of those is a download of a program Jon Freeman wrote which allows you to disable the release on the F9 key, so that you can play and sing at the same time. But, MMario is write, people HAVE used their staplers, toes, a can of beans on top of a pencil, etc. It's been pretty fun to hear about!**BG**

Another question ~ Does the F9 key do the same thing as as clicking on the talk with the mouse button?

The only time that there is a difference between the use of the F9 key and clicking the talk button with the mouse button is when my program is being used.

The button will only lock when clicked with the mouse and works normally with the F9 key.

All my program does is blocks the button from getting a message that Windows tries to send to it telling it that the mouse button has been released so when you click the button with the mouse, it goes down as normal but it thinks it is still being held down even after it mouse button had been released.

Sorry about the garbled up mess last night. When all else fails ~ check the help section (probably a good idea to do this first but it's not the way most guys do things). According to SYSTEMS REQUIREMENTS my old computer is not quite up to the task.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Apparently I will either have to upgrade my system or do some more substitute teaching and buy another more up to date computer.

HEARME is a lot of fun and I hope to get back in there again as soon as possible.

Hey, everybody, last night I got my own private concert from Big Dog. It turns out that an audience an fish for a performer, as well as people with mics can fish for others to swap songs with or for an audience.

Try it, you'll see. Yes, folks, lullabyes on demand, Dial a Tune, the whole thing. How I did it was make the invite in the thread as above, and then leave the HearMe window open while I worked on some writing in an adjacent window, posting a HearMe message that said something to the effect of, I am here but may be looking at another window momentarily, please stick around!

Just think. Personal messages that read, "What time can you meet me at HearMe to work on that song you wanted me to teach you? What key will it be in? Got the words printed from DT (or that e-mail I sent you) all set to go so I can tell ya what chords to write in and where?"

Oh, the Mudcat!

I did have a look in this morning at around 3:30 (8:30am my time). I can't have missed you by much.

Hearme is very easy to setup but if anybody wants a room more private to use for going through songs or whatever this facility already exists on my web space and it is accessed using the link I gave earlier in this thread. To use it, 2 or more people need to agree on a room name and choose the create a room option entering that name. That room will be "private" to all people using that room name on my webspace (unless you precede it with a # symbol in which case it has internet wide access).

Jon, where do I find the create a room option? I didn't see it when I went the regular route through your link.

Thanks!
