21 Apr 00 - 03:45 AM (#215492) Subject: Summer Specials From: Llanfair We have just been asked to do a special gig in July for the people who run the Light Railway here. We board the narrow-gauge steam train with all our instruments, and ride down to Welshpool to pick up passengers, halfway back, we stop and set up whilst the barbecue party gets going, then sing and play till midnight, returning home on the train. It was wonderful last time we did this, except the local farmer complained that the fireworks upset his cows, so, no fireworks this year. Anyone else have "special" gigs this year? Hwyl, Bron. |

Just being outside in the sun after a long winter indoors just makes the music sound better. And, curious here, just what were you doing with the fireworks to upset the cows? ~Elle |

21 Apr 00 - 06:46 PM (#215792) Subject: RE: Summer Specials From: Willie-O Played on a Durham boat (early 19th century canal boat) once...a couple of years ago though I had the specialty gig of all...fiddled at a new age LIVE FIREWALK WEDDING. after which, my recommendation to anyone contemplating such a memorable affair: if you want to get married, have a wedding. If you want to walk on hot coals, have a firewalk--really it's not a great idea to combine the two--too much tension, not enough focus. (You may spend your wedding dinner with your feet in a tub of water.) Not kidding, folks. Happy Easter, and don't get me started on that one. W-O
