Best I ever saw her play was at a songwriters' workshop at Winnipeg. Don't even remember the song but it was just the greatest evocation of, I dunno, call it good vibes--everybody singing along to something we'd never heard before. Dick Gaughan, Mr. Fairness and Equity, was the host--of course it was supposed to be a round-robin format. He just looked at her and said "Ach, Penny. Do another one." So she did. She spent several days in hospital there and returned to her home, here in Montreal. She was ordered to cancel her performing/touring schedule for two months but expects to resume again in July.
