Lyr Req: Fallen Leaves / Falling Leaf

I believe the title of the song is Fallen Leaves or Falling Leaves. I think it is about a jilted Indian maiden.

There's an entry in the DT for a song called Fallen leaves, but it seems like the song is not there (no document matched my query, it said). Can anybody help?

Karen, when you post for lyrics request, you should give the name of the song in the title of the thread, so everybody could see it.

Good luck

I couldn't get to them in the DT either, but here they are from another place:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fallen leaves

All alone in a wigwam
In eighteen sixty-three
There lived a fair Indian maiden
They calledher Fallen Leaves

Pretty as the stars up above you
Fair as the moon in the trees
Because she was born in October
They called her Fallen Leaves

There came a trooper one morning
Just at the break of day
He stopped to rest at the wigwam
Of the shy little Indian maid

Fallen Leaves the breezes whispered
Fallen Leaves the breezes sighed
When he rode on that evening
Fallen Leaves rode by his side

One night while she lay sleeping
The moon was shining bright
He stole away from the campfire
Then rode into the night

Fallen Leaves the breezes whispered
Fallen Leaves the breezes sighed
Our in that lonesome old forest
Fallen Leaves she lingered and died

You can get to the entry on the DT by doing a lyric search for leaves, but there's an awful lot of them to wade through!  For the sake of cross-referencing, here is a link:  FALLEN LEAVES.  (Jimmie Skinner.)
