27 Jun 97 - 11:33 PM (#7635) Subject: Hamster - Green Berets (Barry Sandler) From: keating@jagunet.com I seem to recall a parody based on Barry Sandler's Freen Berets song. It dealt with "fighting hamsters from the sky" or the like. Anyone remember it and/or the lyrics? Thanks! John |

30 Jun 97 - 10:10 AM (#7743) Subject: RE: Hamster - Green Berets (Barry Sandler) From: Kiwi Bo, how does "Fighting Hamsters of Colontir" go? Oh, and do you know a song that I believe is SCA in origin, called "Purity, Virtue, and Chastity"? It's about a miller > with three daughters bearing those names, but who are anything but pure, virtuous, and chaste.. |

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! A-ttack!!!" ::shrug:: Let me know if this is the one, and I've a friend whom I think knows the whole thing. |
02 Jul 97 - 08:31 PM (#7982) Subject: Lyr Add: HAMSTER SONG (Green Berets parody) From: Joe Offer Well, I finally got over my laziness and went to the filk site. The lyrics are too weird for words. I love it. Here's the song: THE HAMSTER SONG -Chrystofer Kensor & Andrixios Seljukroctonis (Tune: "Ballad of the Green Berets") Fighting hamsters from the sky Some will live and some will die Hamsters have nothing to fear The fighting hamsters of Calontir Silver tape upon their backs A broadsword is all they lack Fifty hamsters fight a war They won't win without fifty more Trained by jumping off a roof Trained in combat tooth to tooth Hamsters fight both far and near The fighting hamsters of Calontir Riding high upon our helms Their war cry it overwhelms All opponents become weak At their fearsome squeaky squeak Back at home Paval waits His fighting hamster has met its fate He has died while drinking beer The fighting hamsters of calontir Once again its off to war This time we number a dozen more We will fight for those in need so this year it's with Caid Fighting hamsters jump from planes Fighting hamsters fall like rain Some will live but most will die Stupid creatures cannot fly -------------------------------------- What's Calontir, or dare I ask? -Joe- |
03 Jul 97 - 08:57 AM (#8008) Subject: RE: Hamster - Green Berets (Barry Sandler) From: Bo Calontir is a 'Kingdom' inside the Society For Creative Anachronism http://www.sca.org/ It is comprised of lands hithertofor known as Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Northern Arkansas. The S.C.A.has carved up the world into smaller Cantons, Baronies, and Kingdoms as an organizational necessity and to give ourselves someone to go to war with. War in the society is an enjoyable affair with rattan swords, full armor, heraldry and everyone getting up from the field at the end of the day for an evening of campfires, drinking, dancing and singing. Bo Known as Sigurd in the SCA. |
20 Apr 14 - 07:09 PM (#3620670) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Hamster Song (Green Berets parody) From: GUEST The Fighting Hamster song came about after the Pensic (sp) Wars when one of our knights taped a squeaky toy hamster to his helmet...every time he got whacked on the head we heard the thing squeak. It was the same year we had pizza delivered to the battlefield...late 80's. I wish I could remember all the words...I mostly remember when it was rolled out one night around the campfire. |
