Earl Hitchner was a wonderful

influence on my early love for Celtic music. He was DJ on a radio station in North New Jersey, WFDU in the early 90's. Does anyone wish to confirm Earl's short tenure on this station and share a story or two? -- Thanx

Earle did a wonderful show on WFDU in the 80s. I believe it lasted 5 years - still too brief. He was an influence on my developing interest in Celtic music and now I am hosting a celtic show on WFDU in addition to my folk show.

The writer of this message is the person who said, among other things, nasty, negative remarks about the authenticity of Peter, Paul and Mary. So I don't know if you want to read further. FURTHER I'd be mighty interested in knowing the day and time of Ron Olesko's (spelled rite?) celtic music show on WFUV in North Jersey. Please inform. -- Harold from Hawthorne

Of course I recognized you from rec.music.folk!! :) You are certainly entitled to your opinion about PPM! I didn't think it was nasty at all. Everyone has their own taste. One man's chicken is another man's gumbo. (Name the source of that one!) Hey, at least you listened to form an opinion!!!

My Celtic show is on Sunday morning at 7am - The Sunday Session. I also co-host Traditions with Bill Hahn at 3pm on Sunday. www.wfdu.fm

Ron: yes, I know full well that Bill Hahn (spell?) is your co-host. I certainly did not know that you had a celtic show. I'll be tuned in 7am this Sunday, b4 I go to church, that is. Like all folk radio shows, I'll tape it and play back at my leisure. May I critique the show to your web site (not in public?) As you know, I have strong opinions. Thanx for your forgiving remarx. Typical of the way you conduct yourself on the radio. As you may have read in my previous notes, I'm new to the computer as of 5 weeks ago. This is such a thrill for me. I have a lot of folk experinces, esp. as I used this music in my teaching career from 1990-1999 when I retired. I mean I have success stories to tell. It's such a thrill: I just posed a question 4 hours ago, and got 23 hits so far. Gives me a big head. -- sincerely, Harold from Hawthorne.

No problem... the shows e-mail address is wfdutraditions@aol.com. I use the same address for both shows.
