22 May 00 - 12:49 PM (#231856) Subject: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: katlaughing Hi, there. I seem to recall Spaw saying Duckboots had told him your show was back on the Internet on Monday nights, again. Is that true? I looked at the new CIUT FM site, which BTW looks really nice, and when I clicked on Internet, it said it was still under construction. Sure would love to tune in....thanks! kat |

22 May 00 - 12:55 PM (#231860) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: catspaw49 Yeah kat.....and I e-mailed Boots back, but haven't heard. That was during my time with server problems and that could be it....so Thanks for starting this!!! I couldn't find it either. Spaw |

22 May 00 - 01:18 PM (#231882) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Rick Fielding Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is, but I didn't want to let folks know until a few weeks went by and I could be sure they were on consistantly. I think Tony Burns found the new URL. If anyone can I'd appreciate it. For what it's worth, Eve Goldberg is on tonight. Rick |

22 May 00 - 05:44 PM (#232120) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: katlaughing Thanks, Peter. I went to virtuecast.com and found the right page. Haven't tried tuning in, yet, but it says CIUT is on 24/7, so here it is: Rick's Blue Clickie Thing Knock 'em dead, darlin'! katLAUGHING |

22 May 00 - 07:34 PM (#232197) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: catspaw49 I get to the site and click on "listen"........Real Player loads, but I get a "file not found"--out of date or inaccurate link (not kat's...this is a CIUT) Spaw |
|
22 May 00 - 09:55 PM (#232271) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: katlaughing Well, I get the same thing on the virtuecast link I put just above, too, so looks like no luck, tonight. Sure hope they get it on soon! |

22 May 00 - 09:59 PM (#232274) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Rick Fielding Shitfuck! That's why I haven't told anybody about it! Oh well, good show anyway about the formation of a "folk choir" in Toronto. Sorry folks. Rick |

22 May 00 - 10:06 PM (#232279) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: katlaughing Oh, Rick, it's okay! And, what are you doing back so early?? Really, we've stood the *drought* this long...we can take it just a tad bit longer...I guess....as long as we have an inkling of a chance of hearing it, again, someday...perchance even just to dream of such a day...**BG** luvyakat |

22 May 00 - 10:11 PM (#232284) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Rick Fielding That ungainly expression comes from one of my favourite books of all time, "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton. He was decribing how Seattle manager Joe Schultz when agitated would use his two favourite words in all their possible combinations! Sadly it stuck. Rick |

23 May 00 - 04:13 PM (#232647) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Peter T. And here you had sworn, only a few threads earlier (in the Joke to Spare thread), not to swear again. Jeepers. What a hardened expletivious person. I venture to suggest that you may be a bad influence on some -- for example, our own sweet katlaughing, and our delicate Catspaw immediately emulated you. What kind of role model are you? yours, Peter T. |

23 May 00 - 06:54 PM (#232744) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Jeri Rick, if it's s'posed to be on RA, let us know, OK? If the RA doesn't work, it doesn't work. Nobody's gonna kick your ass about it - we'll find some other reason. |

24 May 00 - 12:44 AM (#232900) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Rick Fielding Well I can't get CIUT, but at the station they tell us to let people know it's on virtuecast.com I don't think THEY know. Anyway it's Monday 7pm. Sorry for the swearing Peter, I'm still recovering from "The Brady Bunch" Rick |

07 Jun 00 - 09:06 AM (#239317) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Jeri CIUT appears to be broadcasting at the moment. As Rick will probably mention, there's no guarantee that this situation will last. Here's a link directly to CIUT Radio RealAudio transmission. This isn't the web page - it should automatically start your RA player, or you can copy and paste it into the "Location" window in RA. |

07 Jun 00 - 09:19 AM (#239324) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Jeri Keeping my fingers crossed, Spaw. This is what I meant to say you should copy and paste if the link doesn't start your RealAudio Player: http://www.virtuecast.com/radio/ciut/ramfiles/liveciut.smil |

07 Jun 00 - 09:20 AM (#239325) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Mary in Kentucky I get the message "Open With?". I never know what to choose. I have Real Audio installed but can't seem to get past this message. Mary |

07 Jun 00 - 09:33 AM (#239326) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Jeri Try it again, and tell it to open with Real Player. If it doesn't show up in the list of programs, you have to click on "Other." You'll get Windows Explorer to pop up. Look for the program in:
C: Make sure the little box that says "Always use this program to open this file" has a check mark in it, or you'll have to go throught this process every time you click on it. (On the opposite side of the coin, make sure the box is NOT checked if you're ever not sure you're selecting the right program.) |

07 Jun 00 - 09:40 AM (#239328) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Mary in Kentucky I clicked on your link, told it to open with Real Audio, but it said that was not a Real Audio document. I tried to open Real Audio and paste your other URL somewhere, but could not find where to "stick it." |
|
07 Jun 00 - 09:54 AM (#239335) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Jeri Try clicking on "View" then select "Normal Size." If you don't have a white window with "Location" to the left, I'm out of ideas. You can paste the address in the white space. I suspect you may have an older version of RealAudio. Here's a link to where you can upgrade to upgrade to Real Player 8 (basic). NOTE: if you select anything except the "stand alone" player, you may end up with some unwanted programs that do weird things to your computer. |

07 Jun 00 - 09:57 AM (#239337) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Mary in Kentucky Thanks Jeri, I suspect my version here at work is old. I'll try several things. |

07 Jun 00 - 11:20 AM (#239363) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Rick Fielding Thanks folks. I'll continue to be hesitant until I know that most people are able to get it. Right now I figure only Stephen Hawking gets it regularly. For what it's worth, last Monday I was sick with flu, and Heather filled in at the last minute. Hard to believe that a couple of years ago she was too shy to even say "hello" on the air. Rick |

07 Jun 00 - 11:44 AM (#239378) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: Mary in Kentucky Hey Jeri, I finally got it! I had to download Real Audio 8, and then when I used your link above, it worked! Now just one other question...actually several.
1) When is Rick on? Thanks again Jeri. Mary |

12 Jun 00 - 09:39 PM (#241755) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: catspaw49 Well, what can I say Arnie. Catspaw be bad influence on da' boy!!!......Any idea how she would know that? Must have listened to Rick's show. Which was quite good tonight. My reception on the web was not broken at all and I enjoyed Rick and Noah in the impromptu jamming. And there was of course the inimitable Peter T. in the studio. I called at the end of the show and told Rick it came through well. also talked to Peter very briefly. My phone reception was far worse than my net reception oddly enough as they generally go hand in hand. I hope a few of you will try tuning into Rick's show, its very relaxed. Any chance on tape archives for Mudcat Rick? Spaw |

Supposed to be a good show tonight, unlike so many of his others which have been really rotten. Hey folks.....Tune in for some great, relaxed, educational, and enjoyable listening. Will we get Peter T. again? Spaw |

19 Jun 00 - 08:07 PM (#244669) Subject: RE: Hey Rick! Acoustic Workshop on tonight? From: catspaw49 Well I must say that Larkin and Andy were really great guests. Nice mix on the show and good music. Larkin's dulcimer segment was terrific. BTW, a lot od music stores that sell dulcimers carry her book and cassette. Any word on archive stuff Rick? Spaw |
