Does anyone know where I can get the music, or at least has heard of the Irish slow air "Sian Cois Maigh"? Does anyone know what it means? I understand it comes from County Mayo. Thanks!

Apparantly, Horslips based their song "Sideways To The Sun", on the album The Book Of Invasions, on the air Slán Cois Maigh (I assume "Sian" was a typo).  That's all I could find, but there is an air Sláan le Maigh; whether or not this is the same tune I don't know, but it was posted last year by Alison and Phillipa:  Tune add:Sla/n le Ma/igh, and there's a midi at Alan's site.

Malcolm

Same thought struck me. Mind you, the "maigh" in this case is the River Maigue in Limerick, I think?

Without the extra a, of course.

Hmmm...the tune is not the same...Guess I'll have to get off my can and transcribe it myself! Expect a tune & midi add very soon!
