I'm looking for the words to Marika's Lullaby. I believe it was recorded in the late 60s or early 70s.

MARIKA'S LULLABY by Charles O'Hegarty

Go to sleep now, Marika
Don't lie awake like your Da'
Go to sleep now, Marika
You don't know how lucky you are.

You never heard the radio
You never read the news
And you don't know what they're doing to your world
And how much you stand to lose.

Go to sleep now, Marika
Marika, go to sleep
Don't you cry, my Marika
For far across the sea...

Children have more to cry about
Than either you or me.
Yesterday on the evening late news
I saw a baby cry like you.

Sitting in the ruins of a home
With no one left to turn to.

Don't you cry now, Marika
Marika, don't you cry
Don't you fret now, the sound outside
Is only traffic noise.

And that shouting from the street below
Is only noisy boys
And those aeroplanes that fly high above the house
Carry only people here.

That rumbling going down along the road
Is only the buses you hear.

Don't you fret now, Marika
Marika, don't you fret
Don't you fret now, Marika
Will you try to forget?

Hello

This song was composed by my Uncle Charlie, but I have tried to download it on I-Tunes, b ut unsuccessfully. Marika is my Cousin, who at the time of writting the song was living in New York with her Mother. She is now living in London, the place of her Father's Birth.

The lyrics are pretty much what I recall from listening to the Irish Rovers' album in the early 70s and from singing the song to my children. The only lines I remember differently are:
'Carry only people, dear' and 'We are trying to forget' for the last line.
Am I mistaken?

You can hear it for yourself here

I didn't check for accuracy personally but it should be a pretty easy question to answer based on the words so far.
