31 May 00 - 04:51 AM (#236269) Subject: Calamity Jane/Deadwood Stage From: Glen in Gloucestershire Hello Children Everywhere! Can anybody come up with the words for the Deadwood Stage. Last heard being played on the wireless whilst laying in bed on a Saturday Morning the programme was called "childrens favourites" way back in the 1960's - a amost wonderful song about a stage coach coming over the hill with the whip cracking away etc. I think it may have been sung by Doris Day. I know it's not a Folk song as such, but it is part of folk memory. I need them for a party piece that I'm planning. Many thanks for your help Glen.

We're headin' straight for town,
Oh, the Deadwood stage is a-comin' on over the crest,
The wheels go turnin' round, homeward bound,
We'll be home tonight by the light of the silvery moon,
