banjo on the air

CIUT F.M. in Toronto (same station as Rick Fielding's show) will be interviewing myself and Chris Coole on Steve Fruitman's "The Sugar Camp" this Thursday at 6:00p.m. You may be able to get in on the internet -I'm not sure. We'll probably play a banjo/fiddle tune, talk about our latest recording, and you'll get to hear some clawhammer banjo music. The Mariposa Folk Festival is having it's 40th.anniversary -yikes with a big 3 day event at the beginning of July in Orillia, Ontario. I'll be there with Kathy Reid-Naiman (as "Ragged but Right"), and Chris will be backing up April Verch, but we will be together in a banjo workshop. Any Mudcatters who come up should definitely introduce themselves - and who knows, maybe we could have a tune or two. Arnie

Hey Arnie.....Thanks for the info.

Regarding CIUT---I just checked the site again and the Webcast function still says "Coming Soon." Sorry 'bout that.....I wish they'd get the thing up and going again. A lot of us used to tune in Rick's show and since we've got so many 'Catters in Toronto, it'd be great if they could get on this before the next millenium.

Haha, Spaw - I'm listening to it at the moment. They must have meant "coming real soon." Will stick a message in the Accoustic Workshop thread.

Sorry - I should stick the link in here too. Click here to go straight to CIUT RA broadcast, or copy and paste the address - http://www.virtuecast.com/radio/ciut/ramfiles/liveciut.smil - into the "Location" window of RealAudio.

Poor Arnie shows back up and says, "Gee, look at all the responses to my thread!!!".......Then he opens it and finds this crappola......Sorry Arnie.... but on the other hand, you do get the benefits of a linkable webcast site!!

Well darn Arnie.......Its been almost 20 hours and no posts......Maybe you should have used CAPS in the title! Now that Jeri has fleshed out the URL and the how to part, maybe we can keep this thread up towards the top so that it might get noticed.

BTW, I sent the URL info to your sister-in-law in Kentucky and she says they'll give it a try.

Thanks to Catspaw and Jeri, I just notice this thread.

Arnie soon you and Chris will be so famous you might need an agent. I bet Catspaw would make a great publicity agent for you guys and Jeri could be in charge of all the advertisements.

Hey Black walnut

The only reason Bonnie missed the thread, was she didnt have the mudcat connected. She only has eyes for BANJO.

Yes Sailor Daniel, what could be more important than a banjo and chocolate?

Black Walnut, I was eating chocolate at the time while quickly glancing through the thread titles and if it wasn't for Catspaw and Jeri, there was a significant possibility of me actually missing this thread.

Arnie and Chris were on for about 20 minutes or so and did a great job. The album cuts were great but the in studio tunes were exceptional....Very authentic Appalachian sound!!!

Good job guys!!!

I completely missed them, (RATS!) but the Atlantic Ceili is on now, and it sounds great.

Thanks for listening! Steve has a pretty weird eclectic show now - I was stuck in Toronto rush hour traffic listening to his show wondering if I got the right channel when I finally got there at about 6:15, pulled into the only parking spot available (thank you Lord), and ran into the studio with my fiddle. I was kind of hoping he'd play some singing songs off the CD too, but we got in a couple of tunes anyway. When I started into the second fiddle tune both me & Chris forgot how it went, but we recovered. I hope the music went with your dinner and you had lots of chocolates afterwards. Arnie
