14 Jun 00 - 05:22 PM (#242500) Subject: Kat's Dad - Live on M'cat Radio tonight From: katlaughing I promised I'd let folks know when this might happen, so, sorry Max, I am starting a radio thread ahead of ya this week.*BG* For those of you who are interested, my dad, G.L. Hudson, aka "Sparky" (he's an 83yr old retired oilfield welder) will be calling in from Utah, at about 8pm Mudcat time to visit with Max and sing a song or two, one of which should be "An Ace Down in the Hole." I've also told him you lot like the old cowboy stuff, so hopefully he's chosen one of them, too. My dad is the one whose family history I am attempting to put in book form, which many of you have been so kind about helping with as far as how much editing to do, etc. Thanks a bunch, Max, Dad is really excited about this and has been *practising* all week. kat |

14 Jun 00 - 09:31 PM (#242610) Subject: RE: Radio: Kat's Dad - Live on M'cat Radio tonight From: Alice Hi, there, Allan called me to say he was in Illinois, and I told him it was Mudcat Radio time. I gave him the phone number, and it was just as you were ending the show, so he called to give an update. There was a bit of delay in the phone line, I think, so that is why there was a pause before he would respond to you. They seem to have made good time and are on schedule.
Sorry I came in too late to hear kat's Dad, so I hope you archive this one. It sounds like it was an excellent episode. I heard from Jed's song onward, and it was all good. Thanks, everyone. Sounding great. Alice |

15 Jun 00 - 11:39 AM (#242862) Subject: RE: Radio: Kat's Dad - Live on M'cat Radio tonight From: MMario got about an hour of archive to listen to yet, but good show, as usual. Definately need to have KatDad back again... regarding the bit about saluting the flag and religious conflict, there are some sects that believe saluting the flag constitutes "idol worship" And it has also been ruled that "under god" may be eliminated by silence for those objecting. |
