Roger! This is a GREAT SITE!!! How'd you discover it??? I want to go on the juke joint tour right this minute!

Definitely bookmarked and definitely fodder for some serious travel fantasies...

Gratefully, WW

My bookmark list grows.

I'm sitting at home in front of my computer with two deadlines and do you think for one minute I'm getting anything written? Nuh-unh. I'm cruising funny websites and adding bookmarks. I'm sick and twisted...

BUT this last website reminds me of a CD I had a few years back called, I think, "Golden Voices," that was absolutely chock full of these awful recordings made by folks like William Shatner -- speaking "Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man" in those full-bodied, pretentious tones. It was such a hoot. Unfortunately, the Man-Formerly-Known-as-My-Fiance made off with it.

I plan to spend the weekend with a bit of Jack Daniels on the rocks (can't handle White Lightnin' at the Juke Joint. The tent tale deserves a song challenge.

I'm delighted to report that Junior's Juke Joint is still around and is still as entertaining and interesting as it was in in June 2000, the last time anyone posted to this thread.

I wandered into Junior's Juke Joint a couple days ago while looking for the source of the picture of Lead Belly's grave in the "Leadbelly or Lead Belly?" thread. The story of Junior's trip to Lead Belly's grave is about halfway down the main page in the Side Trips section.
