An extremely cool list of musicians on your show. I can't wait to hear all those people jamming on Guthrie.

When is the Montreal Jazz Festival and why are there folksingers playing there?

Thanks kat.

"Guest" asked about the Montreal Jazz Festival. It starts today and runs through July 9. It includes 100 indorr concerts with big ticket prices and 350 free outdoor concerts.

Thee's a lot of different kinds of music beyond jazz. In folk-related veins there's blues, cajun, zydecco, klezmer, etc.

Chris, I don't know why you coudn't connect. Everything seems to be working.

Great show, Mike. Came in loud and clear here in central VT. I was thinking that a great companion piece to Magpie's song about the Kansas struggle would be Peggy Ayres' "Mary Brown, Abolitionist" which still makes my hair stand straight up when I hear it.

Sandy,

Your thinking goes along with Magpie's. They do Peggy's "Mary Brown, Abolitionist" on the album. I plan to use it on the show sometime in the near future.

Is the gist of this thread that there is a way to listen to the radio over the computer, like with HearMe? How do you do it? Is the sound quality compromised as much as with HearMe? What is this RealAudio everyone blathers about so much? Is is a program you have to go out and buy, and then when you install it, Windoze can't find it?

Peter.

Peter,

The RealAudio program is available in basic (free) and deluxe (paid) versions. The free version seems to work fine for any RealAudio content I've ever anted to access.

Once the program is installed on your computer, it will load automatically whenever you click on RealAudio content.

The links to download RealAudio are on the Mudcat Radio page.
