Mudcat Technical Problems

Subject: Mudcat Technical Problems
From: Max

Well, here I am on a Saturday morning trying to fix the Mudcat. I have no other explanation for the trouble as of late other than sheer volume. So anyhow, I am working on some backup plans. I have put our development version of the site (this means the secret site we work on between upgrades) up on another machine, and I am working on a second. Now, please use the regular mudcat whenever possible, but if it should go down you can try http://loki.mudcat.org. Now, keep in mind this is just a development version of the site, and this is a temporary solution, a desperate solution, so please don't complain. And I'm not even sure this is gonna work.

Max, sorry if it seemed that I was complaining. I, too, appreciate all the hard work you put into this site.

No, nobody worry about complaining, if the site doesn't work, you have a right to complain. I'm doing the best I can with what I got, and I know that, so complain away, it don't hurt.

You mean to tell me that after I went to all that trouble to wake Bert up this morning, you ended up fixin' things? *BG* Thanks for keeping all of nutters up to our ears in 'Cats, Max. Here's hoping you don't have to spend many more Saturday mornings in the office.

It looks good here too!

I have no reason to complain. IF I don't get a Mudcat fix in a few hours, I get upset at those around me, since I take it out on them. (Luckily I live alone) So, no complaints from me! It's a privilege to be able to access Mudcat, and if it isn't available, whether due to technical problems, or upgrade, I can survive! Enjoy Mudcat!

Max, I think we only complain because we love Mudcat and we miss it when it goes away. We (may I speak for others?) are grateful it's here in the first place and are VERY thankful you work on it so hard. Now go out and burn some meat on a grill!!!

Dear Max's Mom,
I would just like to say that you gave birth to a very kind and generous son. He makes so many people happy and you should be very proud of him. I can't seem to thank him enough, well I guess what I will do is donate more money. That would be a good idea.
So Mom, always know you did a great job as a mother and that you have given the world a wonderful gift when you gave birth to Max.

Sincerly,
Bonnie

thanks Max, Bert, and all who keep this going. For down times, here is another way for Mudcatter's to be in contact.

This information was buried in other threads, so here it is its own separate topic title.

I have an email list called "musicmail" that has mostly Mudcatters as members. You can read the messages at the list webpage without having email sent to your inbox. If you join, you can also post messages. Here is the address to join or to modify your settings if your are already a member. It is handy to have when Mudcat is down and you still want to feel "in touch" with other members.

ooops, I copied and pasted from the other thread and left in that sentence about it being "here in its own separate topic title"... oh, well, at least you have the information if you need it.

It's astonishing to me how much I miss the 'Cat when it's down. Makes me feel very out of touch. So, Max, a heartfelt thanks for: 1) providing it; 2) fixing it.

I just want to add my thanks to those already offered. It is a lot of work to keep a wonderful site such as this up and running and I too appreciate all the time and effort Max and his elves must put into it. Maybe, as Banjo Bonnie suggested, a few more donations may help purchase more equipment or upgrades to help Max out? Can't hurt....

Max, you know how much I appreciate ya, bud. When I think of the acquainces and friends I have made here, it blows my mind. And you got the Mudcat back just in time to save me from killing the cat and chopping down what trees are left in the Oak Grove that I live in out of frustration. So the Arbor Society and the SPCA will probably send you a thank you as well.

Big Mick

Max: I know I missed one night but I though it was my wonderful provider. Anyone who complains seriously hasn't walked in your shoes. Thanks for all the hard work! By the way how did that fiasco with the lawyers and such work out? Hopefully the small remittence I sent helped and the situation is back to its normal insanity. Again thank you for all your efforts, Kindest reguards, Neil
