OpSail 2000 Photographs

On July 4th, I was singing on an observation boat during the "Parade of Sail" in New York Bay. We were in excellent position to see the Tall Ships, being actually right in between the QE2 and the channel in which the ships sailed. I took a roll of film and a camera with me and put the prints on a webpage today.

All the best,
Dan Milner

Great job Dan, thanks. Dan would you grace us (at least me) with some backround on the present state of the Wavertree, I had no idea she was capable of leaving the pier. Barry

Hi Barry!

The Wavertree was determined unseaworthy by the Coast Guard so she was unable to participate in the Parade of Sail. A lot of work was done on the ship recently and, from our vantage point on Peking, she was looking better and better all the time. Obviously, internally, a great deal more needs to be done. It was great to see her out in the Bay however.

A few of us went to South Street yesterday evening for a walk around the tall ships tied up there. One thing that struck me immediately is how large the absent Peking is by comparison. Huge!

All the best,
Dan

Thank you, Dan! Spaw, thanks for doing the blue clickie. what a wonderful day that must've been. It's nice to see the Eagle again. when we lived in Mystic and went into New London a lot, we used to always drive right past her.

Wonderful to see so many from around the world, too!

Thanks!

Thank you, Spaw. I lost the paper with the blue clicky thing instructions on it and I also lost interest in finding that paper... however, I appreciate its benefits.

Delighted this brings back good memories to you, Kat.

All the best,
Dan
