Could you not drink her gaze like wine?
Yet in its splendor swoon
Into the silence languidly,
As a tune into a tune?

- Dante Rosetti -

As quoted by Marie Corelli in Thelma - A Norwegian Princess

I wish I could find the line from Robert Browning about drinking some woman's bathwater like wine.

Sheesh, Peter! Whether it was Browning, or Howard Stern, there are some places I don't want to visit!

Sorry, Peter, I don't know it, but if we found it, would this, then, be you? (**BG**)

Miss Twye was soaping her breasts in the bath
When she heard behind her a meaning laugh
And to her amazement she dicovered
A wicked man in the bathroom cupboard.

Reminds me of an old song...Wash me in the water that you washed your dirty daughter in, and I shall be whiter than the whitewash on the wall.

Its just me Dave. My mind is so far down the sewer that my first thought was NOT the purity of youth, but rather some........

......just forget it. Yours was very nice.

Kat,
Your original thought was lovely. Let's risk throwing out the baby with the bathwater and get back to it- GENTLEMEN!
Years ago, I was the only woman on a all male national sales team and had a reputation for practicality and businesslike demeanor. Then they hired some guy from down south with the sweetest drawl and twinkling eyes... I was done for! I wasn't attracted to him but every time he even looked my way, I blushed. Nothing coy and quiet - bright red, head to toe. There was no hiding it. Actually, I drank his gaze in like straight scotch and swooned drunkenly into quietude quite regularly. Thank god he was happily married or I'd have spent the rest of my life in a school girl stupor. Still I wish I could explain what it was...
Does Dante offer any advice?
For the record I haven't blushed since. Really too bad.
