That is wonderful and such a good positive thing to tell us about; something we could all get behind and maybe not feel so impotent about the whole situation. Thanks very much! Here is a clickie.

All the best,

kat

Hallo Whistler, can you tell why the orange have to walk through the roads of the katholics? I think to get peace in N-Ireland both members have to give something away, I am not gonna judge those things but I hope that there will be peace soon for both members.

First I think the orange have to stopp the walking second so IRA will give away their guns, the british army have to leave the N-Ireland. If they do this I think and I hope that there will be peace sooner then we think.

All the best to you my fellow mudcatter skarpi Iceland.

Before this gets off into another battle, there are two charities benefitting from the raffle. I'm posting this because some will (and probably have) already assumed there's some sort of political agenda and side-taking, without actually having read what's at Dale's website. There is not. From the Chiff and Fipple website, here is some info on the one in Northern Ireland:

The Children's Friendship Project for Northern Ireland, Inc. (CFPNI) is a peace and friendship building program that fosters understanding and promotes interaction between the Catholic and Protestant teenagers of Northern Ireland, their families, and friends. In an effort to break the cycle of fear and mistrust, teenagers in Northern Ireland, who show the potential to be future leaders, are selected and paired in cross-cultural teams to spend six weeks together during the summer in an American home where they can become friends in a neutral environment and can focus on their commonalities, rather than their differences. CFPNI sponsors numerous gathering in Northern Ireland, both before and after the summer, to build and sustain the friendships of the pairs, as well as to broaden cross-cultural contacts with other teens in the program, other family members, and friends.

The second charity is the RAPE RESPONSE program Birmingham, Alabama

What a great program - and posting that is the perfect antidote to the recent NI threads. If one believes in M.L. King Jr.'s dream, this is a better way of planting seeds towards it.
