Dammit! Am I the only one who couldn't resist it????

It has nothing to do with resisting it. I seek out things that say 'don't do this'. That's how I've learned to do anything that is worthwhile.

No, Bagpuss, I figure dozens of us clicked on this. We were, however, able to resist posting to it.

For my recent birthday, my son sent me card ---a "scratch-'n-sniff! FART card. Sure I scratched. And it smelled lots better than some of these dumb threads lately !

But . . . but . . . Bagpuss, I had to post to point out that I wasn't posting, and . . . and . . . aw, nuts!

Art, I love the concept of that card. As my family has a bit of a tradition of flatulating (yeah, I just made it up, but it sounds so offical, I had to use it), I'm sure many of them would love to get one from me. Any hints on where to buy some?

Charlie, you're right--it worked!

I'm sorry about this, but I've looked everywhere and I can't find any thread. Would it be alright if I ignored some string?

Not unless you want someone to flame you for unfeeling, crass, discrimination against cordage, you can't.

Hey, I'm proud of myself, I ignored this thread till I saw that people had posted to it! And I mean I didn't even CLICK it, let alone post to it! Ah, resisting temptation feels ...almost as good as giving in to it!

Very a"muse"ing thread, this.

Jon, loved your post. Had to keep opening this thread just so I could click it again.

And whoever does what they are told to do without a good reason? Not me, that's why I'm here and posting!!

Liz, I will email you the source but for reference, if you see a bit of HTML (or JavaScript which this is) just view the source and copy the bit you are interested in.

I do it all the time and have a thoery that those of us who like to dabble in programming are far more likely to lift someone elses code for thier own use than "normal people"!

That's what I got, also, Mario. It said "JavaScript error: Type 'javascript:' into Location for details". I did that and it said something about the button (PLEASE DO NO CLICK ME) not being properly configured. There was also a bunch of stuff I didn't understand, but some of the lines were blue, and when I clicked on them it took me to the beginning of this thread. I figured that was the joke (anyway, I thought it was funny). Did I miss anything?

Oh Well, that's what I get for not testing script on Netscape as well as Explorer. I can't see what is wrong but Netscape doesn't seem to like me changing the value (caption of the button. It wasn't a good choice anyway because my Netscape documentation say's that it is a read-only property with Mac's and Unix exen though it it read/write under Windows.

What happens with IE is. The caption of the button changes with clicking as follows:

Please do not click me
I said don't click me
This is your last chance

Another click pops up an error message saying "Now look what you have done"
