Let us break bread together on our knees, (X 2)
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
Oh!__, Lord, have mercy if you please.

2: Let us drink wine together........
3: Let us praise God together........
4: Let us all sing together..........

I couldn't believe this one isn't in the DT. Praise, you're gonna love it, if you don't already know it!!

I agree it's a lovely hymn. I understand it's African-American in origin.

I have no info at all. Somehow, I thought it might be a Shaker hymn. Wish I could go back and edit the line breaks in the headings. Joe gets to clean up my poop again. This site really needs a way to edit OUR OWN posts.......

This was one of our favourite hymns at school, because we used to sing "when I fall on my face with my knees to the rising sun". It was a close second to singing "Oh highly flavoured lady" in The Angel Gabriel.

wouldn't be shaker as they didn't pray kneeling...

I've always loved this one though...

Bagpuss - we sang that as most highly flavoured gravy.... but it still remains one of my favourites.....

I've always liked this one for it's simplicity, not only in the tune but in the sentiment and actions.

Funny you should post it, we did it on Sunday.....
