07 Nov 17 - 02:00 PM (#3887344) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Mission Hall (Peter Livingstone) From: Tattie Bogle Anna Massie: bit more than a flatpicker. Very talented multi-instrumentalist - guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle. Plays with "Blazin' Fiddles". Brilliant actress too, as seen at the annual "Blazin' in Beauly" course week during the band's cabaret stage night! And yes, love "The Mission Hall" song. You could do it with just 3 chords, but more interesting with a couple of minors thrown in. e.g G, C, D + Am, Em. |

14 Dec 23 - 05:04 AM (#4193531) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Mission Hall (Peter Livingstone) From: weerover You are welcome, GerryM. There are many more examples of slang terms specific to Scotland (particularly the greater Glasgow area). It is a fine song - I have both Tonight At Noon's and Mick West's versions on CD and enjoy listening to both frequently. |
