Subject: songs wanted
From: GUEST

I would like to find the song lyricts to we're a rainbow made of children, cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, and I can run faster than jimmy brown

Please note:

When you start a thread at Mudcat, please try to pick a title that specifically describes what you're looking for. Generic thread titles like this one cause a lot of confusion, and people often follow up and make it more confusing by adding requests for other songs.
For best results, please follow these guidelines:
  • Give threads specific titles
  • Please do not request more than one song in a thread

Even though the title of this thread is a problem for us, we've do our best to help you find what you're looking for. I'm hoping nobody else requests different songs in this thread now.
Thanks.

Here's...

A partial of "Rainbow", though it doesn't look like in three previous attempts full lyrics have been found. Cat's in the Cradle by Harry Chapin...

Last one I can't find much of. Maybe someone will have better luck, but the only "Jimmy Brown" that I can find is a variant on the million "Johnny be fair" songs, and another one by the name of Jimmy Brown, The Newsboy.

Hope this helps.

Are these titles? Do you have any lyrics at all, even snippets that would help us search?

Hiya Sorch!

I'm thinking they're lyric snippets from choruses. "Cat's in the Cradle" I knew right off the bat, and got lucky with "Rainbow"... Good luck with the last. There's a gang of threads with "Jimmy Brown", but they all appear to be the two that I found.

QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN
From here
Written by: Unknown

Run and skip, jump and fall
You think you're tall
But you're so small
Mother calls for supper,
No more play
Soon they'll come tomorrow
Another day

Chorus:
Singin' hay ladida, oh ladidi
Oly otindo and ali oxen free
Oh I can run faster than Jimmy Brown
I'm the queen of the mountain
And you'll never get me down.

Gotta get up early
Got a lot to do
Gonna build a castle
And go to the zoo
Visit Mother Goose
And storybook land
Why does mommy hold my hand?

Chorus

I'm pretty old now
Five and a half
Gonna be like Daddy
And never laugh
Cuz when you're old
You've got to be strong
You're not a child for very long

Chorus

I'm full grown now,
On my own,
How I wish I could
Go back home
And play all day
With my old friends
Why does childhood have to end?

Chorus

At the site of The Delmont and Resica Falls Scout Reservation Songbook, there's a "Jimmy Brown." Virtually the same song, but there's a king of the mountain instead of a queen. There are a lot of good songs at this site.
