Lyr Req: 'It was a halo, sent down from heaven...'

I havn't the title nor many words to this beautiful, old, folk song. The first verse;

One day a mother went to a prison to see an earring, but precious son She told the warrden how much she loved him It did not matter what he had done

Refrain; It was a halo...sent down from heaven the sweetest gift...a mothers smile

Please help with the rest. I know that some great harmony can be achieved if it's done right. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

This last post sends you to the wrong spot in the thread, but just scroll back to the spot where the title of the song is "The Sweetest Gift, a Mother's Smile."
