29 Jul 00 - 03:06 PM (#267380) Subject: RE: BS: RHPS Fans? From: Mbo I've never actually seen the whole movie, but I saw the part where Meatloaf comes tearing in on his Harley and starts singing, which was pretty cool. I also though it was funny because the butler (actor Charles Grey) we have known for years as Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's brother, in the Granada TV episodes "The Greek Interpreter" and "The Bruce-Partington Plans" of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Seeing him sing was such a kick in the pants! --Matt |

29 Jul 00 - 04:22 PM (#267421) Subject: RE: BS: RHPS Fans? From: Jeri Dammit Janet!!! I haven't seen it for a long time, but waaay back in time (the late 70's) I was in the Air Force, stationed at Bergstom Air Force Base, Austin TX. I and a few other people got dragged along by a guy I worked with. Some of us ended up going back every Fri night for a while. Later on, after a couple of transfers, (one of which was to England, where I got to see the play "The Rocky Horror Show) I ran into an officer who knew it well. When things got silly in the office, we'd do the "time warp." One of my favorite parts (definitely my favorite song) is when Riff-Raff is in the castle window while Brad and Janet are walking toward it in the rain. "There's a light over in the Frankenstein place..." I also like Frankenfurter's entrance in the elevator and later, his climb to the RKO tower in the swimming pool. You think many people who see Tim Curry in various roles realize? |

29 Jul 00 - 07:55 PM (#267534) Subject: RE: BS: RHPS Fans? From: catspaw49 Morty my dear, I'm not surprised. I've never gotten into the dress up end, but I've been a fan for years as is Karen. It plays on TV here a good bit now (especially in the past 4 years or so) and was on again just the other night. Got a good story for you. A few years back, my friend Wayne was doing his clinicals for his Physician's Assistant program and needed to do some practice physicals. It was a few months after my bypass and I made an interesting project. It wasn't a complete physical, but did involve flexibility things and much of the usual stuff. Wayne is on a very tight schedule and is in school all day so he shows up at my place very late on a Friday. Karen goes to bed, we sit around and BS and then start the physical with questionaire stuff. RCPS is on TV so we go down to the den and flip it on. Wayne is dressed in a lab jacket and tie outfit from school and I'm wearing a pair of gym shorts. So I'm on the floor, he's bending my leg/knee joint, Rocky Horror is on..........and in walk my two teenage foster sons. Luckily, they knew Wayne well and settled for the explanation of what was actually going on, but the LOOK on their face when they first walked in!!!!!!! Spaw |

I was only told 8 hours before the event so I could get a costume.... |

30 Jul 00 - 08:19 PM (#268197) Subject: RE: BS: RHPS Fans? From: Barky I saw it for the first time a few months ago... and am now completely addicted. It was a cast party type thing right after our play ended, so I was dragged along. I had the "v"'s all over me and my friend Claire.... dressed me up (evil grin). While we were waiting outside for it to open, she taught me the time warp so I wouldn't look TOO stupid. Of course.... then I got picked for "Virgin Games", so her efforts to make me not look stupid were all in vain... So now I'm completely addicted, and have the soundtrack. My favorite song? That's a stupid question. I don't have a favorite! But I'll tell ya, my least favorite is Dammit, Janet. It's just... too over played. Anyone have any extra funny experiences they wanna share?... such as being chosen for "V games"?
Thanks, all ya Sweet Transvestites! ~Barky |

30 Jul 00 - 08:21 PM (#268200) Subject: RE: BS: RHPS Fans? From: Homeless About 12 years ago, for a span of 3.5 years, a group of us went every Friday and Saturday night. Actually put a performance group together and would do the acting out under the stage bit. Gave Time Warp lessons before the show. I always did Riff, but could also do Frank, Eddie, or Rocky in a pinch. What stopped us from going was that the main enthusiast moved to Chicago (where he joined the troupe up there) and the rest of our group just kind of dissolved. He was the one thing that held us all together. I went to see it about three years ago, and it just didn't see the same anymore. One night, that we later termed "Hell Night", a bunch of drunk highschool football players and sports groupies came in and started tearing apart the theater. They shut the movie down about 15 minutes into it (and it's never played there since). Anyway, being such good helpers that our group was, we hung around and helped clean up the mess. Someone suggested, "Since we can't watch the movie, let's do it." So we all took our chosen parts and started reciting the movie, from the beginning. The cleaning ladies and theater manager just watched us - stunned that we could recite a movie verbatim. I guess when you've seen a movie over 200 times it gets kinda ingrained. |
