OK - I'll resurrect this one. I am also looking for these lyrics. I have a CD with it on, but cannot pick up a couple of the words. If I need to struggle with it, then I will. The song is credited to "K. Munro" on the CD, but I cannot locate anything on the web.

Any takers? Thanking you in anticipation,

Shimbo

Did you possibly mean Alderney?

If so here are the lyrics.

aunque nadie me vea nunca contigo.

Klopf an jede T쳌r, man "ffnet dir nicht.

Charles und Gordon waren zwei Br쳌der,
man sagt einer stach den andern nieder,
doch ihren fairen Kampf sah keiner.

Thank you, The Villan. You have the correct song. Now, my one year of German in Second year high school is not going to be a lot of help. I believe I have successfully lifted the words from the CD I have, and will post them on this forum (eventually), US laws and Digitrad permitting.

Thank you for your help.

As promised a month ago, here are the (English) words:

ALBANY
(by: K. Munro. Story of Gordon Mackenzie and his family home)
As sung by Roger Whittaker

Chorus:
Albany, that once stood high over Norton Green,
Albany, whose mighty walls the people sheltered under,
Albany, proud symbol set in the Highlands green,
Just like a song. A song that lasts forever.

Gordon was the eldest son, a golden eagle so the story runs,
His brother Charles dark as a raven,
One night in jealous rage and spite, the raven struck with all his might,
The eagle turned as quick as light, and slew the raven.

(Chorus)

See the king's men come, riding through the heather,
"Mackenzie's life!", they cry, "and all his lands!",
Silent clansmen stand, motionless together,
An English king won't have a Highland man.

So the king, by his decree, did raze with fire poor Albany,
To let the people see his power,
But Highland justice did prevail, and according to the clansmen's tale,
A golden eagle nests forever in her tower.

(Chorus)
