I am really thankful for the resource that the mudcat is. I may not be here every day, as some are. I may not have time for volumes of correspondance. But the Mudcat is a wonderful resource, and I would like to publically thank those who contribute to this rich musical resource. Hardmian the Fiddler |

But since I had the good ol' New England, "Let's install some work ethic" up-bringing....I will point out that just about ANYONE can contribute - either to the MudCat or to the Digital Tradition. Did you know there are still 3564 entries in the DT that have not had a tune found in the forum or posted either to the forum or the midi page? If you are capable of midi files, abc files, or have some of the music and could scan it in; if you have noteworthy or a similair product and could transcribe...PLEASE feel free to request the file (updated daily mondays through fridays) OR if you can take the time to double check the entries in the list to identify songs for which the Digital Tradition Already contains tunes and could post a pointer - (in the POST HERE thread.....clickie link you too can request a list. Just want to follow the progress? see this thread

There is lots of laundry to be done for those who look, as my mother used to say. yours, Peter T. P.S. I agree with the above sentiments. |

03 Aug 00 - 08:27 AM (#270922) Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: Catrin I'll echo that! mudcat has kept me sane these past few weeks - I've met some really nice people through it as well - and hope to meet more - at the festivals. For me, that's one of the most important things about music, the way it brings people together. Thanks again, Catrin |
