Mudcat is starting to kick off a bit Where is Joe Offer? Some people are beginning to post some shit Where is Joe Offer?

In mild times, in violent times, At times of awful strife When people clash, when the talk is trash At times part of our life

Where is Joe Offer? Where is Joe Offer?

dreadful I know, but the sentiment is true

You're gettin' real poetic Jeri........Kinda' in the Burma-Shave mode. But its true. Hell, I bit on that phony moon (vs, Moon) post. Of course, Jenny has been really open and honest and feels bad she was poorly influenced for awhile. She knows she has many friends here so that apology didn't sound too out of place at the moment. And I hope she comes back and doesn't let the faux-Moon (M) grind her even more.

That's a right fine poem woman!!! Oughta' post it at the top of the page above the FAQ! Ya' done good. I'll send you a new supply of dragonflies.

Thanks Spaw. Plain and simple, Moonchild has friends here, and that compulsive person doesn't.

Please note, I'm not sure whether the first post was started by somebody posting the crap or upset by it. Sounds more like the latter. In any case, I'm outta here.

Joe Offer is off being a real Grown Up, ignoring childish nonsense that he will not delete anyway. He expects us all to be real Grown Ups.

Damn and I thought this would be akin to Jimmy Buffett's Where is Joe Merchant?.....

Joe is off trying to make a buck after losing a bundle by investing in Cletus and Paw's latest failure, "Crappers 'R Us." I tried to tell Joe it was a mistake, but he thought he could smell real money in the business. Sadly, the smell wasn't money, just more of Paw's ignited cabbage and onion flatulence. Frankly, it made me wonder where Joe had been banking.

But I fear that the indomitable Mr. Offer may be saving to invest yet again and from what little I know of Cletus' latest scheme, the future does not bode well for Joe. Cletus tried to tell me about it, but I told him to go piss up a slack rope....and of course he tried and the neighbors are mad as hell because he was trying it out front of my house. Anyway, it seems that he and Paw are taking to the campaign trail to try to drum up big crowds for Bush and Cheney. Now right there, I'm all for it, because if you have Cletus and Paw campaigning for you, you're screwed. I'm hoping they don't go through with it though, because I'm tired as hell of bailing them out of the can and this one has jail written all over it.

Joe has gone off to hunt up obscure Newfoundland port names (are there any other kinds?). yours, Peter T.

Hey, what's so obscure about Port aux Basques?
Actually, Joe Offer has had such poor Internet service lately that he decided to take a day off the frustration and finish reading a book, Dave Lippman's unpublished Bleaching Our Roots: Race and Culture in American Popular Music. There's a lot of fascinating information in the book, but he seems to be clouded by the assumption that everything black in music is good and everything white in music is bad.
Still, I learned a lot from Lippman's book. Maybe there's value in writing a book with a flawed premise - it did make it easier for him to point out all the influences blacks have had on all forms of music
