Max or Joe: help

Subject: Max or Joe: help
From: GUEST,seamus kennedy

Hey guys, my Mac was fried in a thunderstorm last week, and with the help of my computer-enabled son, I'm trying to rebuild everything that was lost, including my connections with Mudcat. I would like to see my personal messages, etc., and become a functioning member once again. Tanx a million. Seamus

You can also go to the Quick Links and Choose Reset Your Cookie, then hit GO and follow along.

Also, check in the Help Forum...accessed by clicking on HELP on the menu bar up top.

Also, you can do a search of the threads, with key words such as "reset" and/or "cookie" and I know a recent thread about how to do all of that should come up.

And, once more place to check for how to do it, when nothing else works, is the Permathread at the top, MUDCAT FAQ-Newcomer's Guide.

Sorry about your Mac, Seamus...LOVE the CD! Thanks!

Thanks, guys, but the big screw-up is I forgot my password, so I can't re-set my cookie. CRS, you know. 'Spaw you can relate, can't you? Seamus

But, Seamus, there is, or there used to be, a place where it asks if you've forgotten your password and it will email it to you, if you answer yes, then you should be in like..um...is it Flynn?*BG**

Kat's got the right answer for you, Seamus. If you follow her advice and still have trouble getting your password, click on my name and send me an e-mail, and I'll e-mail it to you.
Sorry about your ocmputer.

Seeing this thread raises a question. I could be wrong on this (and I am sure that Joe or others will correct me if I am) but it appears to me that those of us who try to help out in the help forum have little Mac knowledge. If this is the case, is there anyone willing to look in to the help forum once in a while and assist where a problem needs a Mac specific answer?.

Jon

Good idea, Jon. The only time I get Mac experience is when I visit my sister in Boston in the fall. We could really use a volunteer who's got some Mac expertise. If anyone would like to volunteer, we'll send you a personal message when we need help, so you don't even need to bother monitoring anything - although everyone is invited to cruise the Help Forum and help answer questions. If you'd like to volunteer for Mac tech help, let me know. We don't need a real expert - just somebody who knows Macs pretty well.

I've been using Macs since the 512K (the one before the Plus), so I can probably offer a fair bit of assistance.

It's been a while, but I have some Mac experience. I have battled a few extension conflicts in my day. It would be nice to have a couple of current Mac owners around the Help Forum. Thanks jeffp.

Joe, Max, Skivee et al, thanks a lot, I'm back! But I don't think I could be the Mac expert your looking for. Seamus
