I have keep my faith and yesterday I got a new house witch I bougth. Our souls are haveing a bad moments this Agust, Why I have no idea. I am still hoping that I can go to Wales this Autumn. I cheated a little and used a translation program; I hope it did okey? I just wanted you to see a little more of your language at the 'Cat.

I am very sorry for your loss, Skarpi. Please keep in touch and let us know how you and your family continue to get on and how your new house is.

That is a lot of stuff Skarpi. I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I guess that old saying 'take each day as it comes' is about as best as you can do right now.
Well you have a bunch of friends here who care about you.
Hoping your family is soon offered some space and time for healing.

Take care,
Bonnie

Sorry Scarpi! A string of bad luck. If you've got the faith, keep it! Four words say it all: this too will pass. It's pretty tough sometimes, though, waiting for things to pass. Hang in there.

Skarpi: The most eloquent thing I've ever heard said at a time like this are by the women who immediately show up at the house carrying plates of food. I don't know exactly how to send you a virtual pot of chicken and dumplings, but I'm sure the thoughts are such that your friends at Mudcat are laying out a buffet of spiritual sustenance for you and your family. We'd been missing your posts -- each one a sunny ray from Iceland. This latest note is so sad, but you sound strong beneath it. While you're being there for the young people, a lot of us will be there in thought for you.

My family got some help through all this and that is a very good matter. Kat where did you get those Icelandic words? I´ll write these in Icelandic. Þakka ykkur fyrir hlýjan hug í okkar garð, og megi guð vera með ykkur. Thank you all for kind thoughts and may god be with you. Slán ljatt agus gora reif míla ma hagat. Dia Duit. All the best skarpi Iceland.

Dear Skarpi, sincere sympathy and hugs for you and your wife while you are supporting your children and their friends. It must be doubly upsetting for you as parents, who have a need to protect their children from such hurt. Others say it much better that I can, but you know that there is a caring community here thinking about you.

Love

You played Irish music. Don't the people in Iceland want to hear Icelandic traditional music? We have a tape called "Sounds of the Midnight Sun," and it is one of our favorites.

I would like to hear about your band. What kind of instruments? Do you have any instruments which are special to Iceland?

I, too am sorry to hear about your losses. all this and the earthquake, too.

Skarpi:
It is imposible to have a life without tradgidy, the trick is how we deal with them. I lost my father a few years ago, and there is nothing good to say to get one through the immidiate moment, other than after a while, you find you have a relation to who he was - a sort of perspective on his life and yours. When awful things all happen together, try and remember that good things will also happen all together.
We are all there with you, in ciberspace at least and in our hearts

Dear Skarpi,

You and your family are in our prayers in your time of trouble. InOBU is right saying that no words can really lift your grief at this time; but, please know that you and your family are important to all of us here on the Mudcat, and we all hope that time will heal the terrible pain that you are feeling right now.

Please be safe and well, and take care of your family and yourself. As long as you are alive, you can love, and that's what makes living worth all the trouble it can be.

Seacht mbeannacht ort agus ar do theaghlach, Áine
