All James Taylor tab is available at the NEW WING of the Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed, the James Taylor Rehab Clinic for the Catatonically Bland. Of course in keeping with the ambience of the Center, all tab is for tiple with the melody line in noseflute. This doesn't really present a problem as all JT songs can be played and sung to "Fire and Rain."

Ooooh, Spaw, I'm glad my wife doesn't log onto Mudcat. She thinks James Taylor is the bee's knees.

No problem Bud......She can share a semi-private with my wife at the clinic.

Truth told, I like JT......and a good bit of Neil Young too........but Taylor, like many other good songwriters, develop a very personal style and sound which means you can readily identify them. You hear something and say, "That's a XXXX song." JT certainly fits that category and much of his stuff has a lilting, sweet, quality that sets even "hard driving" songs apart, ala "Steamroller." I heard Arlo sing something that he had written and I thought at the time it sounded like a JT song. When Arlo finished he said, "Now if that sounded like James Taylor, its because I wrote it in London while we were sharing an apartment." Cracked me up.

I notice that the Digital Tradition has this song listed as "Carolina ON my Mind."
Here are the lyrics we have in the Digital Tradition. Any other corrections needed?

CAROLINA ON MY MIND

In my mind I'm gone to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine, and can't you just feel the moonshine
And ain't it just like a friend of mine to hit me from behind
And I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

Karin she's a silver sun, you'd best walk her away and watch it shine
Watch her watch the morning come.
A silver tear appearing now I'm crying, ain't I?
I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

Now there ain't no doubt in no one's mind that love's the finest
thing around
Whisper something soft and kind.
And hey, babe the sky's on fire--I'm dying, ain't I?
I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

In my mind I'm gone to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine, and can't you just feel the moonshine
And ain't it just like a friend of mine to hit me from behind
And I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

Dark and silent late last night I think I might have heard the
highway call
Geese in flight and dogs that bite
And sighs that might be omens say I'm goin', goin'
I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

Now with a holy host of others standing 'round me, no
Still I'm on the dark side of the moon
And it seems like it goes on like this forever
You must forgive me, If I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

In my mind I'm gone to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine, and can't you just feel the moonshine
And ain't it just like a friend of mine, to hit me from behind
And I'm gone to Carolina, oh----in my mind.

1. Not gone to Carolina, goin' to Carolina. You have to pronounce it just right.
