Little Hawk at Corner Coffeehouse

Shameless self-promotion department: I will be playing the Corner Coffeehouse in Newmarket, Ontario on the evening of Sept 15, 2000. Be there or be impaired. Ha ha!

Oh, it is a great folk club, by the way, and a nice place to eat too.

Mark your calendars in Toronto. It's a bit far for me.

Little Hawk, I wouldn't mind getting the booking information for this coffeehouse. Can you send me a personal?

Thanks

Willie-O

Okay, I'm just about to do that...it's a great coffeehouse, with many acts worth seeing.

Most likely they would. The Corner Coffeehouse is at 227 Main Street South, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, telephone 905-895-1696. Contact Bob Froese at 905-895-9471 and he can give you the upcoming schedule as well as assisting with booking you a gig, hopefully. Good luck.

Little Hawk, this is off the subject but I can't seem to find an appropriate place/thread to interject these thoughts.

I just want to say I've noticed that you frequently bring up spiritual stuff in your remarks about various topics/threads and I appreciate it. The subject is often too complex to easily address and/or I haven't tuned in soon enough to respond in a coherent and seamless way, but I really appreciate your take on some of these things. Thanks and keep it up.

what's that Bearheart? you said he expresses himself in an incoherent and shameless way - and if he keeps it up he should be shipped off to some complex -- WEll i agree! he probably does it because he drinks too much of that spiritual stuff you were talking about -- at Mudcat we have a place for people like that -- it's the Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed -- i heard that Spaw has escaped again (off camping somewhere) so there is an empty electric bed available --- probably just the ticket! : )

An empty electric bed? Awright! Does it have a virginity restoration module? Those are quite a hot item in Newfoundland now, where it used to be almost impossible to find one... :)

Here's Joe Clark smiling... (:-))

just in case you didn't get it, i'm not offended... i'm just not up to your speed...

Little Hawk, as to the "viginity restoration module," hang out by the crop circle. Our only hope is that the aliens have one. In all seriousness - Break a leg! Jim

Yeah. Virginity restoration. What a cool idea, eh? It's one of a number of totally bogus ads I did up for nonexistant businesses and services...it was in a satirical pamphlet which ridiculed various aspects of our money-driven society.

The slogan of the virginity restoration service was..."RE-EXPERIENCE THE THRILL OF THE FIRST TIME!!! That, you see, could be a selling point for either males or females, depending of course on your particular view of the "FIRST TIME"...some enjoy it, some don't...

Another ad was for "The Elephant Finder", a service that locates lost elephants for a very sizeable fee, and comes with this proviso..."No peanuts are used by our personnel".

Then there was "Friends For Life", the pet taxidermy service, which enabled you to have your toy poodle, your alligator, or even your Uncle Jake's remains preserved right there beside you, propped up by the fireplace, right into your own golden years.

All very tasteful and necessary services for the jaded North American couch potatoe lifestyle.

And yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LENA!!!

That is this friday.

Don't put me in the module. I can't have something restored that was ever lost. Lena--Happy Birthday, budinella.

I trust you'll be perfoming "Space Oddity?" The deep message and symbolism in combination with the hauntingly beautiful tune will send your audience into new territories which they had not previously expected. I'm assuming of course that this joint you're working has a vomitorium on premise? If not, you're probably better off dropping Major Tom from the set. There's only so much mind and stomach expansion a body can take.

BTW.......I get notes from people all the time about whether or not I really dislike some person or another, like Hawk here. I kid Hawk because even though it frustrates him a tiny bit, he takes it well and plays the game.

AND HAWK......the "mother" joke in that other thread only made sense if you had seen "Psycho" which I assumed you had. Its not worth explaining bro...just a dumb joke.

Ah, good. It's back on the page. Thanks, Hesperis!

I am beginning to work on set lists, equipment considerations, and all those usual logisitics.

I will be showcasing some friends that night too. Mike Latter gets to do 3 tunes, and so do my friends in the duo "Like Water" (Jennifer Claveau and Eric...from Toronto). This is assuming they can make it, which I think they can.

See ya there.

Lena,
The 15th is my nieces birthday too. I hope things are looking up for you. One year older; one year wiser. Supposedly. Enjoy your birthday!
