13 Aug 00 - 12:57 PM (#276904) Subject: Where are Emery, Schmidt, & McCann? From: katlaughing This was buried in the Dick and Susan go to England thread. I have email Alan that I've started this thread for him. Subject: Emery, Schmidt and McCann From: GUEST,alanabit@web.de Date: 13-Aug-00 - 10:27 AM Does anybody know the whereabouts,e-mail address etc. of three fine musicians called Tom Schmidt, Paul Emery and Annie McCann. I met them in Cologne back in 1981 and I do not know whether they have been back since. They were fine players and nice people. Paul and Annie drove me up to Amsterdam and introduced me to "The Last Waterhole" - a Texan honky-tonk (don't laugh) where they were gigging. I heard from someone that Paul Emery is alive and well and working in Grass Valley California, near Sacramento. If anybody can give me a clue how to get in touch I'd be delighted. Alan. Welcome to the Mudcat, Alan. We'll see what we can do. katlaughing |

I met them in Cologne when they were playing Europe together in 1981. They were nice people and fine players.Paul and Annie drove me up to Amsterdam where they were gigging at "The Last Waterhole". Someone from Sacramento told me that Paul is still working in Grass Valley, California. I'd be glad of any news and would like to make contact with them again. alanabit@web.de |

That's Tom all right. They gave me a cassette of the "Backwoods Jazz" album, which someone nicked from me! It had versions of Richard Thompson's "Pavanne", Duke Ellington's "Do Nothing 'til You hear from Me" and John Martyn's gorgeous "Head and Heart" along with an original of Tom's about disco girls, of which I can't recall the title. Thanks for the link. alanabit@web.de |

I didn't come across any E-mail, but I'm sure you could trace him (and probably the rest of your friends), via those numbers. Worth a try! B. |
