Looking to identify a folk/country ballad type song with the line, "number one fan of the man from Tennessee", in the chorus. What I'm really looking for is chords and lyrics, but even just the song title and/or artist would be much appreciated. Thank you, Tom Dunn trdunn49@nni.com

PLEASE COME TO BOSTON
Written by Dave Loggins
As recorded by Dave Loggins on "Apprentice" (1974)

1. Please come to Boston for the springtime,
I'm staying here with some friends and they've got lots of room.
You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk,
By a cafe where I hope to be working soon.
Please come to Boston, She said no but you come home to me.

CHORUS: And she said hey ramblin' boy why don't you settle down,
Boston [Denver, L.A.] ain't your kind of town.
There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me,
I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee.

2. Please come to Denver with the snowfall,
We'll move up into the mountains so far that we can't be found.
We can throw I-love-you echoes down the canyon,
And then lie awake at night till they come back around.
Please come to Denver, she said no, boy, but you come home to me. CHORUS

BRIDGE: Now this drifter's world goes round and round,
And I doubt if it's ever gonna stop.
But of all the dreams I've lost or found and all that I ain't got,
I still need to cling to, somebody I can sing to.

3. Please come to L.A. to live forever,
California life alone is just too hard to feel
I live in a house that looks out over the ocean
And there's some stars that fell from the sky living up on the hill.
Please come to L.A. she just said no, boy, won't you come home to me. CHORUS

I hope it helps. Kindest regards, Neil

I thought "Please come to Boston" was written by David Allen Coe

Dave Loggins, not Kenny Loggins--he wrote "Danny's Song" which was a big hit for Anne Murray--The woman in this song always struck me as being selfish and manipulative--stomping on his dreams on one hand, and proclaiming her love on the other--
