21 Aug 00 - 04:21 PM (#281859) Subject: Folk Festiv. in Hamburg, FRG Sept. 2nd From: Rollo Should anyone of yer mudcatters worldwide be near Hamburg in northern Germany on the 2nd of september, feel invited to visit our little folk festival! *desperately hoping* There will be five Bands from Hamburg and Vicinity (including your servant and his friends) and we are looking forward to a great open air party with barbecue and beer. And of course every musician is invited to bring along his instrument to join in the end... To those who might know Hamburg szene a little bit: "Folk Magazine" Producer Helmut Zimmer's "Donegal" will play, the new formation "Push Pull 'n Plec" will perform, Roland T. Prakken, an artist known with his Band "Style Bandits" in Hamburg for his unique blending of music from all over the world, will enter the stage, "Eamon's Daughter" will also join, and your humble servant's troupe "John the Ferryman" will attend, too... I am not shure, but the organizers also mumbled something about a bandoneon orchestra... This Folk Festival Party will take place in the garden of the social club "Freizeitzentrum Noeldekestrasse" in the southern suburb Harburg, I would be glad to send you a way description. Maybe this way I will meet some mudcatters from the Area? I met people from all over the world with the mudcat so far, I cannot believe I should be the only one in Northern Germany... Yours, Rollo p.s. should you come to the festival, I am the little bearded fatso they strapped to a banjo. |

Well... because we are all very busy, there is not much movement on our page... and we didn't have time for a gig this year so far... *getting red a little* but yes. There is only one John the Ferryman. And that's us. Perhaps you find the time to visit hamburg for longer sometimes. I love this city! If I didn't live here I would come as a tourist... There is everything. Light, shadow, and a good deal of music of course. |

They are all towns where a week passes in a matter of hours. And hours sometimes last for weeks. All the best. B. |
