I don't wanna sound thick or owt, but I'm not 100% that the lyrics I sing to Lowlands are correct. Please help.

FC, there are so many variations, anyway you sing it is fine! It's just continuing the folk process!

Here's a version in the DT, and another, and another.

And I sing one I learned from the Canadian band Orealis, which has elements of all of them, plus other stuff. It's one of the few sea chanteys I know.

Thanks, Pene Azul, for posting the clickies. I really like the middle version, and it fits a beautiful melody I know for "Lowlands."

I think I will go with "jo" rather than "John" in the chorus, for "jo" is a Scottish word meaning "dear." It's easier to sing and also comes in handy wonderfully when you're stuck with the J in Scrabble.
