IF YOU WERE AN EXOTIC DANCER-part2

24 Aug 00 - 11:36 AM (#284044)
Subject: IF YOU WERE AN EXOTIC DANCER-part2
From: catspaw49

Awhile back, we had a lot of fun with part one of this idea. Dave Swan posted the original and since the politico-religious stuff is getting a bit heavy, I thought maybe besides the music threads, this might lighten up the load a bit. It was a wonderful thread.

HERE'S THE GAME
Suppose you were an exotic dancer or working somehow in the "Adult Entertainment" industry. You'd probably want to pick a pseudonym. A friend of Dave's came up with this formula:

FIRST NAME: The name of your first dog (or cat,chicken,hamster....pet).......Old 'Catters playing again can use their second or third.

SECOND NAME: The name of the street you were living on when you had said pet.

In my case ....... "Taffy Eastport"

The original thread is HERE.....Some really funny stuff there, but I'm expecting a few laughs here too.

I told myself that I wouldn't post to this one but when I realized that the name would be "Heinie Fountainhead" I couldn't resist. Heinie was a great old dachund and we lived on Fountainhead Drive.

I lived on a corner growing up, so it could be Nellie Perine...but Nellie Dubois (even though we pronounced it "Doo-Boys" instead of "Doo-Bwah") sounds better....

BTW, I did work as an exotic dancer for a year. A prize to whoever guesses what stage name I used (only one, not two names)...

First pet was a male orange tabby cat. We moved while he owned us, I think:
"Dabbie Grey Beverley"
or
"Dabbie Grey Sullivan"

(Yes, I somehow thought it made perfect sense to name an orange cat Dabbie Grey. (I was under a year old when I named him. My favorite poem was Dapple Grey, but I couldn't pronounce it.)

The other pet at Sullivan st. was a female grey tabby, her name was French for 'cake':
"Gateau Sullivan" - Now that would be a classy 'lady'... ;)

Not my pets, but still,
"Wizard Benson" Oh, dear. I forgot what street Spot lived on.

Now,
"Sweetie Tecumseh"
Her real name is 'Jelly Roll', but she doesn't answer to it.

Bert,
I take in abandoned strays usually from my vet's office. They live out their golden years in luxury and die peacefully. Poor Susie was a kitten who died from cancer. Lucifer died of a heart attack - congenital heart defect (Yes I had an autopsy done) - while I was out of town. The first rule of my home which is presented to all who enter is "The cats can do no wrong". Everyone laughs until the cats pee on them in their sleep or vomit in their shoes to show displeasure and I nod knowingly and say "The cats can do no wrong". They only do these things to people who annoy them. And I have given up trying to teach them manners.

Peg - Yeah, I lived on the outskirts of Skaneateles from age 10 to 20, having moved down there with my parents from Ontario, Canada. Then moved back to Canada at age 21 and have stayed there since, except for some lenghty visits to Rolling Thunder's camp in northern Nevada. That camp is gone now, by the way.

Skaneateles has a beautiful lake, and is indeed a pretty town, although I remember the economy was rather depressed around there.

And I've since remembered that "Soupy" was a nickname for a dog whose given name was Victor. Victor Main. Good, strong, Chippendale sort of a name. Go with cats at the same time and it's Reno Main or Toby Main. Not so good. For other dogs than first ones, there's Rival Plum and Ruby Center.

And Mimosa, I may very well steal the name "Orpheus Throckmorton" if I ever get to writing short stories again...

Throckmorton? Hey, I had a hamster (no, not a hampster) named Throckmorton. He and his brother Winston shared a common cage together until they started trying to kill each other. I got a second cage for Winston. They used to curse each other across the divide. It was like the DMZ in Korea.

One day I made the mistake of letting them out for exercise at the same time, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. I let down my guard for 30 seconds and they found each other. A hell of a fight erupted, which I tried to break up in every way I could think of. Dumped a bucket of water on them, got bitten trying to separate them, finally wrapped my hands in a towel and got them apart and back in their cages. They rushed to the bars and gnashed their teeth at each other for the next 15 minutes. Brotherly love, eh?

About 6 months later Winston died. Throckmorton died a few days later. I had taken the liberty of letting Winston's body rest in state in the freezer (don't ask me why), so I took both of them out to the woods....and buried them in a common grave.

Ironical, ain't it?

Your strippers' names would be...

Winston Peter Street Throckmorton Peter Street

What a feisty pair!

Mimosa, rather than an exotic dancer, your nickname is more appropiate for an Opera character, of the British author Sullivan, (can't remember the name), am I right ? (gotcha! I discovered the origin of your exotic nickname!) Mine is an Opera character too, from Bizet's CARMEN.

My name for exotic dancer, or better for a flamenco dancer, is Giménez Lope de Vega.

Bert and the Beanster - I have never been able to say "No". Have housed sick birds, baby squirrels, turtles, cats, dogs, and a vicious dove, etc. My sister-in-law lives on ten acres in the country and has a set of unwanted dogs who were about to be euthanized - a huge lab who has no concept of his size and a tiny Yorkie. They are inseparable. Before that she had a red setter also about to be euthanized and another "lab" who was probably a Newfie. She was the size of a cow and so lovable.I live in an apartment and take in cats. some I find homes for; some just settle in. Really, though, I always wanted to be called Nadine.

I'd be Peter or Pippin Pound...... one was a budgie and the other a rabbit.

We used to play this with your mother's maiden (unmarried) name. Then I'd be Pippin Dunford.... The Shark (also known, I believe, as Manitas...... got you there!) would be Shadow Boundary or Shadow Sullivan. He only ever had goldfish as a pet, and the chickens they kept had names like 'lunch'.....
