I'm looking for the lyrics to a camp song I learned as a child. All I remember is: Oh, mmm, I want to linger Oh, mmm, a little longer Oh, mmm, a little longer here with you. Oh, mmm, it's such a perfect night, Mmm, it doesn't seem quite right Mmm, this is my very last with you. I think that was the chorus, and that there were many verses. This was sung by the camp counselors to the little campers on the last day of camp, amid many tears and partings. Anyone remember more of it? |

We had four 2-week sessions every summer, and less than twenty-four hours between sessions. I guess some sweet memories stay with you all your life. We sang the same lyrics, but substituted "we" for "I" and "our" for "my" after the first verse. I can think of quite a few I'd have liked to spend more time with. Natural farmers, living all their lives in concrete, would step off the bus. Three or four of them in every busload, discovering where they really belonged for the first time. So powerful, so precious. They'd hold hands with us, not even aware they'd reached across to grab on, a lot of them.
