27 Aug 00 - 09:21 AM (#286036) Subject: Putting Your Items in Auction From: katlaughing With the recent talk of donatiing to the Mudcat, in whatever way you are able, including collecting tunes and posting etc., it seems time to remind folks that they can sell just about anything in the Mudcat Auction; items do not have to be musically related. Anything from your attic...books...any handicrafts....any great thrift store finds...etc. Also, if you are unsure of how to post them, esp. a picture to go with your description, I will be happy to help you or to do it for you, as long as you provide me with the photo and all of the information, which would include: description of item, how much you want the bidding to start at, how long you want the auction to run, who pays shipping, you or the buyer, and anything else you can think of that you'd like to include. This can be another fun way to support the Mudcat. Thanks, kat |

28 Aug 00 - 08:21 AM (#286421) Subject: RE: Putting Your Items in Auction From: kendall I have a copy of SING OUT magazine to offer. It is the December-January 1961-62 issue. It has the New Lost City Ramblers on the cover. Is this anything anyone would want? |

28 Aug 00 - 12:25 PM (#286543) Subject: RE: Putting Your Items in Auction From: Jon Freeman OK Then kat, here is a question: Today, I helped a local publican sort a small computer problem and he gave me 2 tee shirts that I will never wear. They are both 100% cotton and XL size. One is white with a Ruddles logo on it and the other is Green with a lot of John Smith's stuff on it. I can't see these things having much value and my inclination would be to give them to one of the local charity shops. Can such items be used on Mudcat? I would have thought tryin to cater for postage would cause more problems than the items are worth. Jon |

28 Aug 00 - 12:46 PM (#286556) Subject: RE: Putting Your Items in Auction From: katlaughing Postage may be a bit high, unless someone over there bought them, Jon, although I've send a small box with a rock, a book, and other things that I am sure weighed more than two tee's and it wasn't that expensive, as long as I didn't want insurance on them, too. If you say that the buyer has to pay shipping, then it is their concern, obviously. On eBay, it is noted if someone is willing to ship overseas with a note about giving a firm quote once the auction has ended. You never know, Jon, someone over here might really like one of both of those. When Max and Bert used to talk about the auction on the radio, they said anything, to clean out your attics, etc. I think the only way we will know if there is any interest is to put them up. If they don't sell, it doesn't cost anybody anything. Thanks, kat |

28 Aug 00 - 01:17 PM (#286584) Subject: RE: Putting Your Items in Auction From: MMario Jon - just think of the women from HearMe - they'd probably fight over a chance to own a t-shirt you once touched. Put one on for a few minutes and you could probably double the going price "WORN by JonF"...*bg* |

28 Aug 00 - 01:35 PM (#286606) Subject: RE: Putting Your Items in Auction From: SINSULL I'll start the bidding at $5 + postage. Does it come with a picture of Jon in the T-shirt? - then $10 |
