I've been trying to find the thread we had welcoming new members without success....EXCEPT for Mary's new grandchild Lauren...(congratulations Mary!!) I'd like to WELCOME aboard "Lyrical Lady"...from British Columbia, Canada, who has recently become a member and is in the process of getting acquainted with our community here.

Yeah, like, welcome, new woman. Wait, that's sexist of me. I shouldn't presume that Lyrical Lady is a dame. Sorry, dude. :)

Praise....what was the name of the thread containing your poems welcoming new members?? Been thinking here it might be fun to have a thread, every so often, for newcomers to be welcomed and/or introduce themselves if they want....(esp. now that we have a tune.) hesperis...YES!!!

welcome aboard Lyrical Lady ......

just remember... that there are a few members in this collection of people who have the ability to take any thread and reduce the comments to some form of debauchery and/or witless banter. These people (no names please) seem, to most appearances, have it 'together' on the surface of most of their postings, but in very short order they can reduce any thread to nonsensical drivel.... Actually, it is quite a talent that they have, because there is no limit to their scope. So, be forwarned, and take heed. You will see their true form and enjoy the banter, just be careful who's advice you accept.

It was my best shot at witless banter...

I have no witless banter at 7AM, little otherwise. My best advice is to Get Copernic, It Works. (Google is Good too). Welcome to the zoo, friends. Lotta strange noises in here sometimes.

The Badger, Magician and I have spent quite a lot of time this summer convincing people that it's worth becoming a Mudcat - and actually signing up. Welcome Lyric Lady and anyone else we have met who has just got round to joining. Beware the amount of time you will spend on the site!

Thank you one and all for your "welcoming" responses, especially to "Night Owl" for initiating this thread. I'm so happy to be "here" and I hope I can contribute in one way or another ... and to "Lauren and Little Duckling" remember...."Mama may have and Papa may have, BUT God bless the child that has his (or her) own Cheers! LL (Lyrical Lady)

P.S. Thanks "Spaw" for your response to "Old Gibson", thanks to you, I checked it out and it is authentic and worth much more than we paid! Thanks all who responded!

Owl, Praisepoems just pop up sometimes. When I am so moved and have time. New member threads have come and gone too. I like them. I wish people would start them more often. Like the Birthday threads. People could intro themselves. It just takes someone remembering to start the thread and ask the great questions.

It's all funerals here, so we are very busy. Welcome to all new members, hello to all veteran members, I am thinking of all of you!

Hi!

I'm relatively new (about a week) and have really enjoyed what y'all write here in the various forums (fora? forae? whatever).

I live in Sumner, Washington which is just a little east and north of Tacoma. I'm 38 and have been playing guitar since I was 16, and singing since I was 4, when I knew ALL the words to both "Yesterday" and "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay." Never looked back.

You can learn more about me by going to my webpage -- just click on the mouse:
