Ritmo Tambo

I have a song on a cassette I've had for some years. It sounds Afro Cuban to me, and the only words I can make out are in the chorus: "ritmo tambo i flores". It has a big-band sound and very rhythmical. unfortunately, I did not label the cassette and have no info about it.

Does anyone have any idea what the song is, the author and the country of origin?

many thanks

Callie

Callie, I looked around, and a name that pops up a lot with the song "Ritmo Tambo y Flores" is Celia Cruz, from Cuba. It looks like she had "Ritmo Tambo y Flores" on her album 'Queen of the Rumba." Is it a woman singing?

There's some sound samples of Celia for you to compare your tape with here. From a cd called 'Con La Sonora Mantancera.' Hope this helps...

OK, one more thing and I'll shut up... The song was written by Joseito Vargas. Maybe someone knows the lyrics?

Wow! Thank you ever so much!!!!!! The version I have is a male singer, but at least I have an author now and some idea of the background. I wish I spoke Spanish - it would be so handy! Many thanks Lepus
