Lyr Req: ... a Fine Time to Leave Me Blue Shield

Heard a part-time folk-singer, full time physician sing this anti-managed care song: "You picked a fine time to leave me Blue Shield" It's a parody, of course, of the song made famous by Kenny Rogers "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille."

I have my fingers crossed, you all can come through. I know the guy who sang it says he was not the person who wrote it.

Could we have lyrics for those whose computers are audially challenged? Thanks!

if I find them I will post them. But the closest I came was the audio clip. and since I'm at work, I really can't transcribe them

YOU PICKED A FINE TIME TO LEAVE ME BLUE SHIELD

You picked a fine time to leave me blue shield,
Just when they told me my liver's congealed,
They told me it might fail,
They got me one wholesale,
But I think I got a raw deal,
You picked a fine time to leave me blue shield.

You picked a fine time to leave me blue shield,
I'm goin' broke as my case is appealed
If they'd only loan us their CEO's bonus,
I'd live with the pain that I feel,
You picked a fine time to leave me blue shield,

(sob, sob, gasp, cough)

Thanks, that's a good one.

... then there was the one about the truck driver whose tire came off while he was speeding down the highway.

When rescuers found him in the wreckage, he was barely alive, but was muttering something. They leaned closer. He was singing, "You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel..."

Sorry. ~;o)

Thanks MMario and Alice,

This is a great start, but I suspect what we have is a "sample" of the entire song. Anyone know the rest of the verses?
