From: Dave the Gnome I'm probably going to regret this but a friend of mine (Pete Ryder - look out for his CD called Last Chance Saloon - it's brilliant) does a song called Nat Shapiro's time. I have discovered from the Mudcats excellent archieves that Nat Shapiro was a US showbiz agent responsible for making some Jazz musicians famous but one line in the song still puzzles me.
"One white boy, blow monkey. Blues serious, jazz junky. This is what I will probably regret... What is a blow monkey? Cheers D the G |
