Help: 'Cook Book'format for iMac

I was wondering if anyone has written a cook book and if so what would be the best software to use on an imac. I know this isn't musical but I'm planning on a "Musical Fruit" section in honor of "Spaw"! Bean recipes anyone? Cheers,

Well, my family has done cookbooks before...we just use Microsoft Word.

Lyrical Lady - will you be self-publishing or sending out to a printer or what? If the latter, then check with the printer you plan to use. They will tell you what is most compatible with them. They may desire plain text, in which case any word processor you like will be fine. otherwise, whatever desktop publishing system you like.

I understand that I could use a desktop publishing format or Clarisworks etc but being Canadian we have the metric system and it's nice to convert to imperial...I know there is software available ... but I haven't had any luck with them...I was curious if anyone has actually found one that actually works. Thanks for your input. Cheers...LL
