Anyone for Northwest Clog?

Our Morris side in Edinburgh (Scotland) is looking for new members; dancers and musicians. Any 'caters interested in giving Northwest Clog dancing a try?

We practice on Tuesday evenings during the winter and then perform during the summer months.

PM me if you're interested.

Sounds interesting, but a bit far to travel from Bury on a Tuesday evening, thanks for asking! Is it Northwest Clog because it originates in the Northwest of England, or am I being too parochial?

Clog On!

Hi Noreen,

Yes, NW of England, from the mill towns of Lancashire and Cheshire. Clogs were the footwear of the mill workers, and no they're not all wood like the Dutch clogs; wooden sole and leather upper.

Bit far for me as well I'm afraid. On top of which my knees are already knackered! Have you tried the MDDL as well? I'm sure they have people around your neck of the woods.

Cheers

Dave, I've found the MDDL, subscribed and posted a message. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

No probs Jock. I am off the MDDL at the present but see you there when I set mail on again.

BTW - I always found 'set mail digest' sent to listserv a more convenient way of getting the mail in one daily lump was better than receiving in bits and pieces - but that's only me.

Cheers and good luck with the team.
