Well I am back and jetlagged, so I will just say, to all who kindly sent notes which went unanswered, I will catch up soon. Please, all, say some prayers for Sally in Devizes, the wonderful wife of the Popular Halfwit, who is fighting a brave fight against a terrible illness.
Catching up...
Larry

Welcome back Larry you ol' Wob. Riding the rods on the jets again, eh?

Seriously, will keep your friend in my thoughts. Welcome back (not welcome home, home is everywhere). -- the canoer

Larry, glad you are home safe and hope you had a great visit.

I was privileged to spend some time with Ralph and Sally and two finer human beings you could never hope to meet. I had been wondering how she was faring and am sorry she to hear she is still fighting it. She is a lovely person, and I had some great conversations with her (she is a devout Christian and I am a pagan and we still found a way to have a fascinating spiritual discussion)

I will send some healing magic her way on this powerful day for such workings...

Please give them my love if you speak to them.

Peg

It's good to have you back, InOBU. I hope you have wonderful tales of busking the summer away. Or part of it, anyway.
Sally is in my thoughts and prayers along with Beau's Mom.
Welcome back.
Mary

I'm in Essex, and you were in Wiltshire, and now you're in New York, and I'm saying welcome back home. It's a paradoxical place this Mudcat.

Anyway welcome back. (If you've missed the skirmishing that's been going on, some of it's worth reading.)

Kev!
If there is an Essex, a Wessex, a Sussex... that the hell ever happened to Norsex... (Nussex? No-sex?) or is it just sex to the north? Ever wonder? Larry

Well, there was a county called Middlesex, but they abolished it(though people still use the term). Out in Easty Angl;is it's Norfolk and Suffolk, as in the Kipper's anthem "Norfolk and good..." (Try saying it out loud!)

The Angles had it. But its useful for alternative world stories, or English exercises on addresses where you want to avoid anywhere real. Like East Norwood, or South Dulwich in London.
