23 Sep 00 - 12:28 PM (#303850) Subject: Watson's 'Columbus Stockade Blues'? From: Peter T. Coming off the Doc Watson thread, there is a famous line of someone regaling all the good things in their life, and they say that they have heard "Doc Watson play the Columbus Stockade Blues". Can anyone tell me what album this might be on, or if it was ever recorded? I have never run across it in the myriad Watson albums I have canvassed. yours, Peter T. |

From: reggie miles We recorded this one on one of our, now out of print recordings, when I was working with the jug band Strangers With Candy. I'm not sure how to transfer it to you via the web though. I could type what lyrics we used if that helps. |

Offhand, I can think of two Doc Watson albums on which he does "Columbus Stockade": Memories and Third Generation Blues (w/Richard Watson). Mike Regenstreif |

23 Sep 00 - 01:59 PM (#303895) Subject: RE: Watson's 'Columbus Stockade Blues'? From: Mark Clark Michael, I think the link to CDNOW.COM should be entered as: CDNOW.COM. If you don't include the double slashes, the URL is interpreted as a subset of the site hosting the current page; in this case, Mudcat. Also, If you don't include everything from "cgi" through "1001966", I don't think Mudcat will get credit for people's purchases through the link. Your first link was correct. You probably went through the Mudcat clickable logo to get there and copied the URL once there. That's what I usually do too. The second one looked as if you'd simply typed the URL into your post. Cheers, - Mark |
