Just wondered if anyone else is going to the Bok,Muir,Trickett concert in Hartford,CT USA this coming Friday in what is purported to be their last joint tour? Duane D. & I will be there. I've enjoyed their music for 12+ years, but have never heard them in person. Sure don't want to miss my last chance!

best,

bbc

bbc - we'll find you there. I'll try to fashion a mudcat badge, but I'll recognize you from your Midcat pix.

P.S. - bought your jewelry through the 'Cat auction. Hopefully, I can get Nora to wear it that night to help you find us.

Wonder if Sandy and Caroline will be there. Seems likely.

Tiger--neat! We'll probably be wearing our Mudcat tees. No, I don't think Sandy & Caroline can make it. Hope Nora is enjoying her necklace!

Believe it, this IS their last tour. They will also be in Rockport Maine on Oct.1 in Bath Maine at the Chocolate Church on the 6th and at the Side Door Coffee House on the 20th.You will never see their like again.

I saw BMT in NYC about 10 years ago and again last year at the Big Muddy Folk Fest in Boonevlle, MO. They're great and well worth a long trip. They have long been my favorite folk group.

I'm afraid bbc is right. Caroline and I can't be there. Her father, at age 95, has moved into an "assisted care" unit in his retirement complex, and we must help to clear out his old apartment. That means we'll be in northern Indiana, moving furniture, when Gordon, Ed & Annie are in Hartford moving your hearts and souls. So be it.

We'll miss you, Sandy, but there are seasons in our lives for various things, each w/ its own time & value. As you say, so be it.

Hi Barbara,

I'll be seeing them in Bath, Barbara, so Hartford is no go for me. Besides the distance is a killer!

Hi to Duane!

Brett, I wish we could come to the Chocolate Church concert, too, but, as you say, the distance is prohibitive!

MaryMac, I'm afraid it's a no-go for the GetAway. Finances won't permit it this year, although we are really sorry to miss it. I'll give Duane your message.

I posted the BMT Farewell Tour Schedule (in two separate posts on that thread), and it's also available at Gordon's Timberhead website. I'll be at the Bedford concert on Saturday, in my Mudcat T-shirt, of course!

Aloha,
Mark

And I know, they go by TBM, even though they also go by Bok/Muir/Trickett. Go figure. But how often does a kid from Philly get to do a New York joke?

TBM has always been easier for me to say than BMT, but when I've listed them on a CD or in a promo piece, I've always done it in alphabetical order. Ingrained egalitarianism, I think.

I have deliberately tried to avoid the subway comparison, Mark, although it is a darned good joke for a feller from Philly. %^)

Just wanted to let you all know that the concert was super! It was pure pleasure to see & hear Gordon, Ann, & Ed together in person after hearing their recorded music for so many years. The interplay between them was great--instrumentally, vocally, & conversationally. It felt like they were playing in someone's livingroom, rather than an auditorium. Mudcatter Tiger was there w/ his wife Nora. He found us (in a large auditorium) & we chatted a couple of times. Very nice to meet both of them! Some of you may remember that Tiger won the bid on the set of jewelry that I auctioned over Mudcat. Nora was kind enough to wear it last night. A completely unexpected bonus came for us when we realized that we were sitting next to Ann's daughter, Christina, who has her own musical group, Hot Soup. She has a delightful personality & voice & it was so nice to meet her! Naturally, we mentioned Mudcat. On *her* other side, was a woman (sorry I didn't get her name) who said (when I mentioned working near Sandy & Caroline) that she had been the maid of honor at Priscilla Herdman's wedding! Sometimes the folk world seems like a small, close-knit place. The audience was wonderful last night. We didn't actually *know* many of the people, but they all looked familiar, just the same. And all had a look of satisfied wonder on their faces, to be at that concert. I wish you all could have been there with us!

best,

bbc
