25 Sep 00 - 10:34 AM (#304993) Subject: Stephen Fearing in Walkerton From: black walnut on saturday, september 23, Stephen Fearing did a benefit concert to help raise money for expert witnesses at the inquiry into the Walkerton tragedy... it was held in a barn set up for concerts, at Stonyground Farm, renowned for it's lovely gardens....200 in the audience in a semi-circle of chairs and hay bales. the sound was great. opening for fearing was richard knechtel, who later accompanied fearing on harmonica for a few songs. it was a great concert, full of energy and passion. last night, september 24, i heard fearing again, at the Flying Cloud Folk Club at the Tranzac, in Toronto. the whole night was absolutely superb! fearing is a master songwriter, singer and guitar player. and in the audience were the likes of Cate Friesen, Bernie Finkelstein, and ...Bruce Cockburn!!! fearing records on True North records, which is also Cockburn's label... ~'nut |
